Dressy Casual
What is the dress code for the wedding?
Aso Ebi
What is Aso Ebi?
It is a unique fabric that is traditionally worn by the Yoruba ethnic group at ceremonies and festive periods, such as weddings. The word aso in Yoruba means cloth and ebi denotes family, so aso ebi can be described as a family cloth. It is usually worn by family members and friends to symbolize unity, support, and camaraderie during a celebration.
How do I get Aso Ebi?
Wedding guests will purchase unique fabric selected by the couple. The fabric is sewn into a selected style chosen by guests' as an outfit. The aso ebi outfit is then worn to the wedding celebration with an accompanying 'fila' (a hat) for men, 'gele' (a head covering) for women. The couple will provide instructions on purchasing and sewing aso ebi at a later date.

When should I arrive in Sicily?
We would love for you to spend 2 days celebrating with us. We recommend that you arrive on August 4th, the day before the welcome dinner, to acclimate and get settled in before the celebrations begin. The airport to book your travel to is Palermo Airport - PMO. Guests who would like to explore Sicily/Italy should plan on arriving several days/weeks before the welcome event as August is the traditional time Italians go on holiday and many of the shops and tourist sites will be closed in the middle to late August.
We recommend buying your ticket as soon as possible. The airport to book your travel to is Palermo Airport - PMO. August is a busy time in Italy! We also recommend purchasing trip insurance.
